Welcome to The Contemporary Classical Music Guide.  Our aim in putting together this free site is to introduce people who have not listened to much modern music to some of the contemporary classics.  Each composition is introduced to you in as accessible a manner as possible: 

• We start with some general thoughts about the piece or its context

• Then we take you through the music, illustrating our comments with short excerpts in mp3 format

• Finally, if you like the piece, there are names of other works, with similar ideas, that might inspire you 

Latest Update:  We have now placed 40 reviews online for you, 17 more than two weeks ago, 23 of which have audio excerpts.  By the end of next week, all 40 will have audio excepts.  During the last fortnight, we have also made substantial changes to the 'browse' and 'about us' sections.  Please take a look.

Please note that all our text is copyright material and that all the mp3 excerpts are from copyright material of the record labels.  This means that you should only listen to the music in the reading of our review/criticism.   No further use should be made of the excerpts without the consent of the copyright owner.  Hopefully, you will enjoy the music so much that you will go out and buy it.  We have provided full details of each CD so that you can do this.
